UTME CANDIDATE ARRESTED FOR PAYING N10,000 TO UPGRADE SCORE
The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps has arrested a Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination candidate, Cletus Kokowa, for reportedly hiring a syndicate to upgrade his scores from 162 to 206. The candidate with Registration Number 95329290ED from Bayelsa State, was arrested on Thursday at the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board headquarters in Bwari, Abuja, where he confessed that he was asked to pay N10,000 for the upgrading.
Reports say that Cletus contacted the syndicate through a WhatsApp group a few weeks ago after he learnt that they could upgrade his score from 162. He was later sent a false result notification which stated that his score was now 206. However, his UTME results remained the same on the JAMB portal, this led the father of the boy to write a letter of complaint to the board to correct Cletus' score.

Kokowa arrived JAMB headquarters with his uncle who is an army officer, following the board invitation to come with the two results as proof, after which he confessed on Thursday to have employed a syndicate.
He said, Those guys sent a mail to me through my electronic mail (E-Mail) inbox that they could help me in upgrading my Jambscore that all I need was just to trust them. I then sent them my registration number and e-mail address. When the results were released and I had to check to confirm which the showed me 206. Then, one of them called me and demanded payment.
“I later went to check it out by myself and I found 162. I was confused. I had heard that upgrading jambscores was an offence, but I didn’t actually believed it. I did not tell my father and my uncle about the incident"
Concerning the incident, the JAMB Registrar, Oloyede, said the board would ensure the arrest and prosecution of candidates discovered to have involved in the fraudulent practices before, during and after the examination so as to maintain their standard.
He said, One of the popular claims candidates normally make is that JAMB had issued them two different UTME results not knowing that the went for upgrade which there are been defraud of their parents money or guidance. But I said it was a lie because this result was processed via information and communication technology through jamb database.
“When this boy came with his compliant Iasked for his records to be brought and we discovered that he had contacted fraudsters who gave him a fake result which was not found in our record. We discovered that the result given to him by the fraudsters was an imposition of another candidate’s result on his own which had been edited by them.
“He is with the NSCDC and he will be handover to the police for dealings and prosecution.”
Beware of fraudsters Candidate, don't be the next victim cause Jamb won't take it easy with you. Jamb upgrade is not real instead you are been defraud of your parent money.
Be wise

TIPS ON HOW TO PASS UNICAL POST UTME EXAM
I come to you in a different dimension today. Many have been expecting this write-up, take a glass of water, you are on a lucid path to get a high score in post UTME.
Gone are those days when we use our feet and clay to build houses. Those days when we lost our tooth, we throw it on the zinc believing it’s the only way to grow a new tooth. I still can’t forget back then in 2008, when my primary school Mathematics teacher flogged unseriousness out of my body to marry Mathematics.
My greatest joy then is when I hear the our Mathematics teacher was sick, because I never enjoyed anything in life but play. Joy keep making my gapped teeth to be exposed, expecting a pleasant kiss from the door… We will go out and play on the carpet grass, throwing stones to seniors who obstruct our play. No one ever told me that I would apply all those things I’m being taught in Primary school. It’s not that I wasn’t told. But the teachers don’t know how to tell me those things so that I can easily understand… For the school is known for excellence, they will teach you but no one will teach you ways to understand them easily.
Coming to the university. No one will beat you for not coming to class. No one will punish you for not answering questions in class. It’s a different world altogether. No one will spank you if you don’t read your books. By the time you gather F’s, you will understand the true meaning of “Aluta”.
Getting good scores in post UTME is a very easy task. A mediocre can score higher than an avid reader. How is that possible? Natural intelligence stand out to be superior to knowledge derived from reading.
The only thing that can make you to succeed is “Faith”. When you receive it, you believe it, then you work hard for it to come to pass. Don’t be discouraged simple because you didn’t score high in JAMB. Post UTME is simple, only if you make it simple for yourself. Learn mouse handling because the exams is going to be computerized. It will be disgraceful when you get to the hall and you can’t hold a firm grip on your mouse… just try the exercise buy holding a pen ln a paper, move it to different directions.
UNICAL will not give you fish. But they will teach you how to catch fish. Another thing is “Time”. How fast can you solve a Calculation and move to the next question? Take the past questions, give yourself limited time and observe how fast you can think and get the correct answers. My method is this “I will first condemn two options then use 20 sec to peruse to remaining two before moving to the next question”. Once you click on an option, you can still change it if you wish.
After spending more than 1 minute on a question and you couldn’t get the answer, just click on any of the options, write the number of the question down, you will go back to it when you are done. Instead of exhausting your time on a single question.
Mathematic students. When you arrive at something like these: √400. No need to start wasting your time on useless system calculator. Just get the square root of 4 and the square root of 100. Then multiply them together. √4=2. √100=10. 4×10=40. That’s how it works. Also learn long division method and other basic things.
Don’t waste your time on Further Mathematics. The questions will come frlm the General knowledge pf mathematics like: Probability, Sequences, Length of cord, arc, shapes, etc.
Use of English. Your vocabulary development is a key. Try and learn at least 10 new words per day. During the exams, I can assure you that those synonyms and Antonyms will be as easy as ABC. Concord is not a problem. The questions are easy. Learn your prepositions and conjunctions very well.
Current affairs… Their questions are not hard. Just learn all the things in Nigeria and their date of creation. Example, NYSC, Central bank, Coat of Arms, National flag (It might interest you to know that the highest flag in West Africa is in 11-11 Road, Calabar). All these things are possible questions you are to expect.
Nothing like Computer in post UTME. But just read it in case UNICAL change their mind. Meanwhile, their questions are very easy. Learn your software, hardware, acronyms and the rest. Overcome tension when you are writing the exams. Tension made me to fail questions that I wouldn’t have failed. Write the exams as if you are the boss (but don’t let overconfidence to deal with you). Keep pride off… Say no to pride. Submit yourself and listen to what people are telling you… Humility pays.
Those topics that have been giving you problems, this us the best time to tackle them. When you get to the hall, focus on your system, stop looking at other people’s wok.
Another tip to pass is this, always complain, if your system do “pim or tim”, don’t ignore it, call on the invigilator that it did something, you have the right to complain. Don’t be shy.
Good luck on your post UTME.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR YOUR PUTME REGISTRATIONS BY MOST SCHOOLS
We are doing everything we can to make sure you get all the information you need for your putme so that you won't have any excuse to miss this year's admission. Below are some of the important documents you need to keep ready for your putme though the requirement carries from school to school but there are ones every school or most schools must required from you during your registration. So, start gathering them and be keeping them standby. Some of them are:
1. ORIGINAL JAMB RESULT SLIP:
Every school must require your original jamb result slip print out before you enter the exams wall especially those schools that do putme that requires your presence. The jamb result must contain your school of choice, passport, course and score in colour . So make sure you print yours out and keep it ready for your screening test.
2. O'LEVELS:
Most schools will ask you to upload your o'levels during registration whether your school does screening or write post utme exams, you must be asked to upload your o'levels which is your WAEC,Neco,GCE or any other result. Remember, if you are using combined results, it has to be waec, waec or neco and neco or waec and GCE. You dont combine GCE and neco or waec and neco. So get yours ready.
3. ACKNOWLEDGMENT FORM OR PRINT OUT:
This is the print out of your registration form. After registering for your putme and submit, make sure you print out the form because you must come for the putme with it sometimes so as to know the date and time of your screening and also the Hall that will be used.
4. LOCAL GOVERNMENT IDENTIFICATION:
Some schools like UNN will ask you to upload your local government identification while doing your putme registration. So make sure you get yours from your local government or any local government near you just by visiting your LGA secretariate at the rate of 1500 depending on your LGA.
5. TESTIMONIALS:
Testimonials are same as first school leaving certificate, you can use either of them. So schools also ask for it during putme registration.
6. Birth Certificate/ Age Declaration:-
Alot of Schools in Nigeria normally ask for this when going for either screening or POST-UTME, candidates are always advised to come with their Birth Certificate but if you don't have you can visit a court for Affidavit/ Age declaration.
If there are other questions you need to ask regarding your school, feel free to ask or call or WhatsApp us via 08140564569
In my next post, I will post some schools we have gotten the connections to runz your putme for you and we are going to select 10 people each from each school who will meet up with the terms and conditions. If you want to get help during putme for your school, kindly drop the school and we will inform you if its among them and the terms and conditions.
